4150 Locomotive Fund

December Update

By Pete Maddicks

First of all, I, on behalf of all of the Trustees wish you a belated merry Christmas and a happy new year. Let us hope it is a better one than the last one!

I have not been on site at Bridgnorth for over four weeks now, but the boys have been keeping me informed as to what has been going on.

It is a short month because of Christmas and the new year break, but a lot has been done, although it does not look as dramatic as each job is smaller.

A lot of small parts have been cleaned and painted by Bob L. Charles L has made and fitted four covers to keep the dirt out of the radial truck, he also fitted grease nipples to make lubrication easier. If you look at the photos you can see some BR weld repairs.

Simon B has fitted water drains to the pony truck under keeps.

Peter D and Dave McC have been working on the front cab windows. Peter has also been working on the boiler, getting it ready to be turned over so the welder can finish off.

Tony H and Si B have been carrying out repairs on one of the axle boxes.
